Recap: Esther
In this week’s message recap, Pastor Mark Allen explores this powerful exploration of Esther chapter 3 reveals a profound truth we often miss: the story of Haman and Mordecai is actually history repeating itself. When King Xerxes promoted Haman the Agagite, he unknowingly set in motion an ancient conflict that began generations earlier when King Saul failed to completely obey God's command to utterly destroy the Amalekites and their king, Agag. Saul's partial obedience became full disobedience, costing him his kingdom and leaving unfinished business for future generations. We discover that this wasn't just a political conflict but a spiritual battle between those who followed God and those who served darkness. The Amalekites were devil worshipers under the influence of Samael, and God's command for their complete destruction was about removing spiritual wickedness from among His people. Today, we face the same battle described in Ephesians 6:12, where our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness. The four lies Haman spread about the Jews, that they were different, disloyal, dangerous, and disposable are the same lies used throughout history to justify persecution. This reminds us that incomplete obedience to God creates problems for future generations, and that we must stand firm against spiritual deception in our own time.
